Police are investigating the death of a 5-year-old girl after a violent incident at a home in Queens Wednesday evening.
NYPD officials said the child’s mother called 911 after an apparent assault inside the house on 110th Street and 95th Avenue in Richmond Hill.
When officers arrived just before 7 p.m., they found the girl unconscious and unresponsive, and took her to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead.
The office of the Chief Medical Examiner will work to determine her cause of death, which police did not immediately rule suspicious.
The NYPD did not make any immediate arrests.
