A 5-year-old girl was found dead inside a home in Queens on Wednesday, the NYPD said.
Police said they responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at the home on 110th Street in Richmond Hill just before 7 p.m.
When officers entered the home, they found the young girl unconscious and unresponsive, according to police. She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police are now investigating her death as a homicide. Her name wasn’t immediately released.
Neighbors say multiple family members live in the two-family home.
No arrests have yet been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
