A Moroccan-born, French-raised, and globally celebrated singer, composer, and producer, Zarra fuses North African chaâbi, Amazigh (Berber), and Gnawa rhythms with contemporary urban jazz. Singing in Amazigh, Arabic, French, and English, her velvety mezzo-soprano and multicultural sound have captivated audiences worldwide, making her a powerful voice in the global jazz scene.

On Sunday, November 15 at 3:00 pm, Salcedo’s Latin Soul: Pops Y Palmas Album Release Party at LeFrak Concert Hall. “What if Louis Armstrong had toured the Caribbean?” That question inspired acclaimed saxophonist Steven Salcedo and his powerhouse ensemble, Salcedo’s Latin Soul, to create Pops y Palmas: A Caribbean Tribute to Louis Armstrong. Blending jazz improvisation with Afro-Caribbean rhythms, the new album explores the musical connections between New Orleans and the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, and Puerto Rico, celebrating shared traditions from the pulse of the clave to the spirit of Carnaval and Mardi Gras. Featuring leading jazz and Latin musicians, Salcedo brings Armstrong’s legacy to life in a vibrant concert filled with energy, soul, rich storytelling, and musical exploration.
