Advent Carolndar, the holiday spectacular created by Joel Waggoner (School of Rock) and Tony nominee Julia Mattison (Death Becomes Her), will return to the New York stage with a one-night-only performance December 14 at 8 PM at The Town Hall.

Directed by Tim Drucker (The Unauthorized Hallmark(ish) Parody Musical), this year’s celebration will feature appearances by Tony and Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris (Damn Yankees, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Art), Tony nominee Megan Hilty (Death Becomes Her, 9 to 5), and Grammy nominee Allen René Louis (The Wiz), with additional guests to be announced.

Born from Waggoner and Mattison’s digital holiday tradition, Advent Carolndar began when the Broadway veterans challenged themselves to write and release a brand-new holiday song every day for the 25 days leading up to Christmas.

“We are thrilled to return to New York with our biggest, jolliest, most dingle-bongliest Advent Carolndar yet,” said Waggoner and Mattison in a joint statement. “We’ve been writing holiday songs for a number of years, which means we have approximately 9,000 Christmas songs and absolutely no idea what to do with them except put them in a show! We’re bringing the hits, the deep cuts, the clams, the Christmas witch, and several things that we legally cannot call Christmas miracles. It’s going to be merry, bright, and deeply stupid. Come celebrate the season with us!”

The upcoming evening will also have production design by Nate Bertone, lighting design by Colleen Doherty, sound design by Connor Wang, associate direction by Joyah Spangler, production management by Juniper Street Productions, and general management by ShowTown Theatricals.

No Guarantees Productions is producing.
