NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s birthday is coming up, and some New Yorkers already have a surprise in store.
A woman has gone viral on TikTok for asking New Yorkers to sign a virtual birthday card for Mamdani, who turns 35 on Sunday.
The online birthday card will let you RSVP by pledging to do something good, such as a small, good deed, a donation or an act of service.
The card has over 7,000 signatures as of now, with people from over 2,000 cities having signed it.
@Little_Miss_Contrarian has also made a physical card, which she has been carrying around NYC for people to sign. She said she hopes to hand deliver it to the Mamdani himself.
Anyone who is interested in signing the physical card can meet her Oct. 16 at the locations listed below:
-12:30 p.m. at the Brooklyn Museum
-1 p.m. at Prospect Park
-2 p.m. at the Brooklyn Bridge
– 3 p.m. at City Hall
-5 p.m. at Union Square
-6 p.m. at Times Square red steps
Some comments for the mayor have been placed on the virtual birthday card.
“Cleaning out one of the ‘take-a-food’ and ‘leave a food’ pantries of all expired and gross things and clean the pantry and leave some goodies. Hey Mamdani I just want you to know you are one of the few reasons I have any hope left. Thanks for being a bright spot in a dark life,” one person wrote.
“I made a donation to NYC Women’s Shelters to help those women who are in a bad situation get the help and resources they need,” another wrote.
