A Bronx man was taken into custody after he crashed his car off the Boardwalk and onto the beach Friday, police said.
It was not clear how or when Abuu Konneh drove onto the Boardwalk, but just before 1 p.m., the four-door Toyota that was headed down the ramp at Belmont Avenue toward the street suddenly went into reverse, breaking through the rail and onto the dunes.
No injuries were reported.
Konneh, 50, was charged with several motor vehicle violations, including driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving with a suspended registration, refusal to submit to a breath test, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
