NEW YORK (WABC) — For the first time in 42 years, the iconic character Underdog joins the 2026 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade lineup.
The fan-favorite balloon returns for the first time in decades just in time for the 100th march.
New Yorkers were able to get an up-close look at the balloon on Monday morning at Grand Central Terminal.
Outfitted in his famous blue cape, Underdog is one of the Parade’s longest running characters that appeared in every parade lineup from 1965-1984.
Macy’s previously announced a brand-new balloon set for this year’s parade: Joe Cool and Woodstock.
The parade is scheduled for on Nov. 26 and is set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
