Karen Sweeney-Kennedy, 56, passed away on Nov. 9 at Memorial Sloan Kettering after an 8-year battle with breast cancer. A proud graduate of Notre Dame Academy High School and St. John’s University, Karen had a successful fundraising career, raising millions for Snug Harbor Cultural Center and the Staten Island Children’s Museum over 24 years. She later worked at Wagner College until retiring due to illness. Karen enjoyed time with her beloved children Julia and Daniel, visiting coffee shops, searching for the best pizza, relaxing at the beach, and hosting holidays for family.
