A Brooklyn jogger was on life support Monday as the NYPD continued to search for the assailant who stabbed her. Police say 28-year-old Katie Suarez was stabbed in the neck twice on Friday evening as she jogged along the waterfront after leaving her job as a bank teller at TD Bank, reports ABC7. Suarez’s father told police he spoke with his daughter by phone shortly before 8pm, and she told him she was just 5 minutes away, per the New York Times. He went looking for her when she failed to appear and found her injured.

The NYPD released an image of Suarez and is asking for the public’s help with any information about the attack, per AMNY. Suarez changed into her running outfit after work, met up with her mother about 6:30pm, and gave her mom her work clothes before setting off for the Shore Park Greenway, police say. The attack follows last week’s reported knife-point rape of a runner in Central Park and recalls the 2016 killing of Queens jogger Karina Vetrano.
