Queens of the Stone Age have revealed that they are heading across Europe next summer as they unveiled a massive tour.
The desert rockers released their ninth studio album Perfecth to critical acclaim just last week, and are set to continue on their victory lap with more massive shows on the horizon.
They revealed the North American leg of the Perfecth World Tour last week, with Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp in supporting slots, and described these as “the first dates”.
Josh Homme and Co. will kick things off in San Diego on May 1st, after which the band will visit the likes of Inglewood, Oakland, Sacramento, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, and more.
However, clearly keen to keep moving, QOTSA have also now announced plans for a European tour to follow hot on its heels, revealing the dates via their social media channels on November 2nd.
This time, the band will be joined by support in the form of Zep, as they start the second leg of the tour at the Gilde Parkbühne in Hannover, Germany, on June 13th.
Thereafter, they are set to visit Bordeaux in France, before making three stops in Spain, playing Bilbao, Sevilla, and Valencia, before moving back into France.
While there, QOTSA will play the Festival de Nîmes in Nîmes, before heading to Pordenone in Italy, Munich in Germany, and Pula in Croatia to round out the tour on June 30th.
Interestingly, there is a gap in their touring itinerary following Nîmes which could, potentially, allow for them to perform at Glastonbury Festival either on June 25th or June 26th. The last time they performed at Worthy Farm was when they went head-to-head against Elton John in 2023 when headining the Other Stage.
At this stage, no artists have been confirmed for the 2027 edition of Glastonbury.
Although the band are playing some pretty seismic spaces in the form of arenas, they will not be getting any bigger than this, as frontman Homme said recently that he does not want the outfit to play stadiums.
“If we were that big, I wouldn’t want to play a big place. I’d rather play a smaller place (for) a few nights, and maybe, not everyone gets to see you. I don’t enjoy that size of a [venue],” he said on the We Might Be Drunk podcast.
However, with more legs of the Perfecth World Tour potentially set to be announced, it is shaping up to be a busy live schedule for QOTSA, having only just released their new album.
In a four-star review of Perfecth, Far Out said the record “is beyond a mere welcome addition, establishing a new chapter for the band where the riffs and macho falsetto are as prime as ever, but the rugged blues hints at a more mellowed horizon for the desert rock pioneers.”
Tickets for Queens of the Stone Age’s 2027 European tour will go on sale from November 6th at 10am local time.
