City agencies towed more than 35 illegally parked vehicles in the Bronx during a recent enforcement sweep, officials said.

The operation came after weeks of complaints from residents across the boroughs about cars, vans, campers and trucks left in spots without proper plates or registrations, some of them unmoved for weeks.

Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Kaz Daughtry posted video of the enforcement on social media, showing police, fire, sheriff and sanitation personnel removing the vehicles.

He said many New Yorkers had contacted him directly, urging him to visit their neighborhoods to see the problem firsthand.

“Five or six ladies come over to us, screaming, jumping up and down and were saying that they got parking. They were happy because they city, that someone is finally answering their calls and let them know that we are out here for them,” Daughtry said.

During an interview on NY1 Sunday, Daughtry said residents have also raised concerns about vans operating illegally as mobile car washes.

He added the city would work to assist people living in rundown campers that have become fixtures in some neighborhoods.

Officials said similar towing operations have taken place in other boroughs and will continue.
