The Oneida City School District’s capital project will go forward after being approved by voters this week.

Superintendent Matthew Carpenter said in a statement on the district website that the project was approved by a 168-84 vote, with one voided vote.

“We are grateful to everyone who came out to vote and support our district. Your participation is essential in helping us continue to move forward together,” Carpenter said.

The project features $3 million worth of improvements for all facilities across the district — and officials said the project will come at no cost to taxpayers. It will be fully funded, the district said, with New York State Building Aid and guaranteed energy savings.
