Persistent payroll issues within the Syracuse City School District have prompted it to create more than a dozen new positions to deal with the problems. Hundreds of employees have been underpaid or weren’t paid at all after the district transitioned from PeopleSoft to an Oracle Cloud platform earlier this year.
4. Nonprofit named for Oswego County child helps families with weekend groceries
There’s an organization in Oswego County that’s helping kids stay fed through the weekend. Erin’s Angels focuses on the problem of child hunger and is run mostly by volunteers.
5. Kiyan Anthony carrying on family legacy at Syracuse
Kiyan Anthony, son of SU legend Carmelo Anthony, is a freshman on Syracuse’s basketball team. He is already making his mark this season, averaging 17 points per game, second most on the team.
6. Takeaways from the newly released Epstein documents
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee initially released three emails where Epstein mentioned President Donald Trump. Republicans on the committee responded by disclosing the bigger trove of documents and accused the Democrats of cherry-picking a few messages out of context in an effort to make Trump look bad.
