The 2025 Miss Blackberry Queens were crowned inside Jemison High School on Nov. 1 to begin their year of reign as queens. Shelby Handley was crowned the new Miss Blackberry Queen at the pageant, followed by Ellie Grace Carroll as the Junior Miss Blackberry Queen, Jordyn Frazier as the Young Miss Blackberry Queen and Selah Speaks as the Little Miss Blackberry Queen.
The newly crowned Miss Blackberry Queens will represent the City of Jemison and Jemison Lions Club during their reign. The Miss Blackberry Queen Pageant acts as a fundraiser for the Lions Club and provides income for projects the club puts together each year. The projects range from donations to Jemison schools and community projects offering things to local residents.
Derived from the Petals from the Past garden nursery in Jemison, the name is based on the Black and Blueberry Festival held there each year. The newly crowned 2025 Miss Blackberry Queens will make appearances at parades across Chilton County, business openings, community events and other areas during their reign, and work towards serving the Jemison community throughout it all.
