BENSONHURST — MILITARY VETERANS CAN ACCESS THE BENEFITS THEY’VE EARNED during a special event that City Councilmember Susan Zhuang, D-43, is sponsoring on Thursday, Oct. 16. She is partnering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to host accredited Veteran Service Officers (VSOs) at her district office at a program running at her district office, 6514 20th Ave. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 718-307-7151 or emailing [email protected].
VSOs are trained advocates accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans and their families with health, dependent and education benefits, as well as home loans and local programs. All services are provided free of charge.
“Supporting our veterans is not a one-day effort, it is a lifelong commitment,” said Zhuang. “My office remains open and dedicated to helping every veteran in our district access the benefits they have earned.”
