STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Laughter, stories and old memories filled the air at LiGreci’s Staaten in West Brighton as alumni of St. Peter’s Boys High School gathered to celebrate the 40th reunion of the Class of 1985.
Guests, older, grayer, and in some cases a bit heavier than they were in their youth, convened on the first floor of the Staaten on Nov. 1, quickly rediscovering the camaraderie and cherished memories that have endured for four decades.
Over drinks and dinner, former classmates — some now fathers and grandfathers — reconnected and relived the moments that shaped their formative high school years.
Stories flowed freely, from favorite teachers and classes to decades of life milestones, reinforcing the bonds forged as teenagers at St. Peter’s.
“This night was about more than just nostalgia,” said Jack Muraca, Director of Alumni and Advancement. “It was about celebrating lifelong friendships, the shared history of our school, and the spirit of community that continues to thrive among our alumni.”

Organized in part by Mike McHugh, the reunion brought together dozens of graduates, including Al Basile, Pete Rappa, Andrew Toth, Rich Prinzi and his wife, Tom Mormino, Brian Lawless, Ed Sares, Kevin Boyle, Manny Burgos and Tim Reardon.
Also in attendance were John DiFazio, Gary Connors, Pat Burns, Ray Diaz, Jim Marshall, Gio Dugay, Joe Andreo, Andrew Diaz, Pete McGovern, Sean Williams, Mike Milza, Tom Barrattini, Mike Fusco, Mike Felong, Troy McGhie, Anthony Venturella, Paul Driscoll, and Tim Wise.
Through conversation and laughter, one thing became clear: the pride in their St. Peter’s roots remains as strong as ever, which has stuck with the students, as they navigate adulthood, no matter which path life took them.
From reminiscing about legendary homecoming football games to reliving everyday school memories, the evening underscored the lasting impact of growing up on Staten Island.
