STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Local organizations are teaming up to provide Thanksgiving meals to Staten Island families on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at the NYPD 121st Precinct, located at 970 Richmond Ave. The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and aims to ensure families can enjoy the holiday with dignity and comfort.
The Council of Jewish Organizations (COJO) is hosting the giveaway in partnership with the NYPD 121st Precinct and Community Council, with support from groups including Amazon, Calvary Chapel, Anthem, Health Education of 1199, and the NYPD Police Foundation. Volunteers from Making a Change With Kindness — Kids Give Back will assist with distribution.
Families attending the event can expect traditional Thanksgiving staples such as whole turkeys, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and seasonal vegetables, along with pantry essentials to help complete the holiday meal. Organizers emphasize that the initiative is about sharing kindness and easing the burden for those facing economic challenges.
Community leaders and NYPD officials will be on hand, including Chief Melisa Eger, Staten Island Borough Commander; Captain Jim Palaj, Commanding Officer of the 121 Precinct; and Robert Orlando, President of Community Council 121.
Organizers encourage Staten Island residents who need assistance to attend, noting that no family should miss the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving.
