UTICA, N.Y. — The recent Mega Millions jackpot run has brought over $54 million to New York, benefiting public schools and lottery retailers.
The New York State Gaming Commission reported that from July 1 to Nov. 14, Mega Millions ticket sales in New York reached $132.8 million.
This resulted in $46.5 million for K-12 public schools and $8 million in retailer commissions.
Despite the jackpot being won in Georgia, New Yorkers claimed prizes totaling $8.8 million, with several winning $20,000 or more.
