BOSTON — The Boston Celtics have hovered around .500 for much of the early season, but they finally surpassed the benchmark following a 113-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center.
It wasn’t a pretty victory, as Boston had a season-high 20 turnovers and got beat in transition for the majority of the Atlantic Division showdown. However, when it mattered most, the Celtics showed up. The Green Team outscored the Nets 24-14 in the final frame in order to improve to 8-7. Celtics star Jaylen Brown recorded a game-high 29 points in 32 minutes of play. Tuesday marked the 12th time in 15 games he’s led the C’s in scoring.
Reigning Sixth Man of the Year Payton Pritchard also tallied 22 points and a game-high 10 rebounds during the back-and-forth win. Forward Michael Porter Jr. had 25 points on 50% shooting for Brooklyn, yet no other Net had more than 16 points.
The Celtics have now won 9 straight games against the Nets. They’ll face each other again on Friday night in Boston.
Ahead of the rematch, let’s take a look at some of the best images from the Celtics’ win over the now 2-12 Nets.
