Deion Sanders is adamant that he is the right guy for the job in Boulder.
His boss seems to agree.
Sanders spoke with reporters on Tuesday and said that, despite the Colorado football team holding a 3-7 record, he is the person who can lead the team out of the doldrums and back to glory.

“You’ve got the right man,” Sanders said. “I promise you, you do. And I’m going to prove that to you. Just give me an opportunity and a little more time, and I’m going to prove that to you.”
One account on X then shared the video of Sanders’ press conference and wondered if the head coach was on the hot seat.
Colorado athletic director Rick George made clear that this is not the case.
“The seat is not hot,” George wrote in response. “We believe in what is ahead for this program.”
George, however, is stepping down from his post at the end of the 2025-26 school year and is slated to become a special advisor to the chancellor.
It’s unclear if that change would have any effect on Sanders’ job status.

Sanders came to Colorado in 2023 with plenty of fanfare — and his son, Shedeur, at quarterback — and eventual high expectations when the team got off to a 3-0 start before going 1-8 the rest of the way.
But behind the younger Sanders under center and Heisman winner Travis Hunter at both receiver and cornerback, the team went 9-4 last year.
This year, though, has brought plenty of challenges with Colorado 1-6 in Big 12 play after losing its last three games.
“If anybody is built to overcome situations and trial and tribulations, I am,” Sanders said Tuesday.
