A woman who struck and killed a mother and two of her children while speeding through a red light in Brooklyn has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Miriam Yarimi, 33, of Midwood, hit 34-year-old Natasha Saada and her children Diana, 8, Deborah, 5, and Philip, 5, as they were crossing Ocean Parkway in Gravesend earlier this year, the Brooklyn district attorney’s office said.

Saada and her two daughters were pronounced dead at the scene, while her son suffered serious injuries, including skull fractures and brain bleeding, according to the DA’s office.

In court Wednesday, Yarimi apologized to the victims’ family members, breaking down in tears.

“I accept full responsibility for my actions,” she said. “And I hope and pray that my guilty plea, as well as my sentencing here today, will provide some degree of closure.”

“I’ll have to deal with this for the rest of my life,” she added. “I think that’s the punishment in itself. And I think about the victims every day. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t think about what I’ve done, what I did, what happened.”

Prosecutors said Yarimi was driving a 2023 Audi on a suspended license when she turned onto Ocean Parkway on March 29.

Surveillance footage showed her using her phone before she drove through a red light, the DA’s office said. Authorities said a block later, she sped through a second red light, hitting another car and striking Saada and her children before her Audi — which was traveling around 68 mph in a 25 mph zone — flipped.

An Uber driver and four passengers in the car Yarimi hit sustained minor injuries, according to prosecutors.

Publicly available information shows a car registered to Yarimi had more than 20 speeding tickets, half a dozen red light camera violations and dozens of other violations.

Yarimi pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree manslaughter last month. Prosecutors had hoped she would serve the maximum five to 15 years.

In a statement, Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez called Yarimi “a reckless driver who cared about only herself when she raced in the streets of Brooklyn and wiped away nearly an entire family.”

“She should not have been driving a car that day but, instead, she chose to callously ignore all traffic and safety laws when she caused this unspeakable carnage,” he said. “While today’s sentence is shorter than the maximum we recommended, it sends a clear message that reckless driving will be vigorously prosecuted and met with serious consequences.”

The victims’ lawyer, Herschel Kulefsky, spoke to reporters after the sentencing.

“In fact, [Yarimi] originally stated, why should I apologize? I’m the victim over here,” Kulefsky said. “All of a sudden today, for the first time, there’s tears, and there’s apology.”

“The only thing she was concerned about was protecting her assets from any possible lawsuit,” he added.
