NEW YORK (PIX11) — A Code Blue has been declared in New York City as temperatures are once again expected to drop near freezing overnight.
During a Code Blue, shelters will be available system-wide for anyone at risk and those living on the street.
The Code Blue will be in effect until 8 a.m. on Thursday. If you observe someone in need of shelter, call 311, and an outreach team will respond to the location.

The National Weather Service predicts that the coldest time of night will be around midnight. Minimum temperatures around the region are predicted to range from the upper 20s to the upper 30s.

The NWS predicts that daytime highs will climb into the high 40s on Thursday.
After Thursday, the worst of the cold snap should be behind us, as daytime highs should return to the 50s.
