Tonight, you might want to bundle up and head out to your yard because you will have a chance to see something really cool in the sky high above Western New York. The comet called Lemmon will be very visible tonight.

Comet C/2025 A6, aka Lemmon, Will Be Visible In Western New York

Tonight will be the perfect night to see something very cool in the sky above Western New York. We are expecting little to no cloud cover, so you will have a great opportunity to see the Comet Lemmon streak past the Earth. The comet, which was first discovered earlier this year, will be visible near the Big Dipper.

The best time to see the comet tonight will be around 90 minutes after sunset tonight.  According to the National Weather Service, tonight’s sunset in Western New York will be around 6:30 pm. This means the best time to view the comet will be between 8:00 and 8:30 pm.

If you don’t see the comet tonight, you will also have a really good chance to see it early Friday morning. The best time to see the comet on Friday will be around 90 minutes before sunrise, which is expected to be around 7:30 am.

How Close Will The Comet Come To Earth?

You don’t have to worry, there is no chance that the comet could impact the Earth. The closest the comet will come to Earth during its orbit will be on October 21st, and it will still be over 55 million miles away.
