Queen Camilla complemented her latest look with diamonds and sapphires worth tens of thousands. On Thursday, Her Majesty greeted the winners and runners-up of the Queen’s 2025 Commonwealth Essay Competition at St. James’s Palace in London.

For the occasion, Camilla selected a long-sleeved blue dress with a scalloped neckline, as well as a pair of black suede boots. Affixed to the front of her frock were two diamond and sapphire brooches: one in the shape of a moth, and another resembled a horsefly.

Camilla first wore the latter piece, set in yellow gold, in 2024. According to experts from Steven Stone jewelers, it’s worth approximately $6,500. Her moth pin, meanwhile? Worth a whopping $40,000, the company’s creative director, Maxwell Stone, estimates.

The Queen also opted for a pair of 18kt white gold and sapphire tassel earrings by Fabergé. Also set with diamonds, they’re priced at $21,000.

On Tuesday, Camilla broke out one of the British royal family’s most expensive crowns. She and Charles hosted the Diplomatic Corps reception at Windsor Castle, for which the Queen selected a stunning diamond and emerald tiara.

The Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara features a diamond-encrusted band and a large oval-shaped emerald center stone. It was worn by Princess Eugenie for her 2018 wedding to Jack Brooksbank, though the piece dates back to 1919, per Vogue. Boucheron created it for Dame Margaret Greville, whose jewels were later inherited by the Queen Mother and passed down to Queen Elizabeth II.

Joanna Wyganowska, design expert and gemologist at Queensmith, told Daily Express that the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara is worth somewhere in the multi-millions: “[Its] value is staggering—upward of $6 million, perhaps as high as $13 million,” she said back in 2022.

“The near-100-carat emerald is cabochon-cut, meaning the surface is rounded and smooth, not faceted like you’d typically see with such valuable gems,” Wyganowska added.
