A significant shift toward colder weather is gaining momentum as we approach the days after Thanksgiving, PIX11 meteorologist Mike Masco also reported.

“It’s far too early to pinpoint specific storm dates, exact rain-snow lines, or accumulation details, but the overall pattern is absolutely capable of producing impactful winter weather,” Masco said.

What is in the forecast heading into the Thanksgiving holiday is wet weather: skies will be cloudy with some showers. Going into the end of November and December, daily temperatures in New York City are expected to drop on average by about 7° each day, according to Weather Spark.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, New York and other parts of the Northeast should experience their first significant snowfall by the second week of December.
