MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A Manhattan store was out more than $1,700 after it fell victim to a bitcoin scam Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The incident was reported around 3:09 p.m. Thursday at the Burlington Coat Factory at 425 3rd Place in Manhattan.
Riley County police officials said an unknown male called the store and instructed personnel to take money from the register and deposit it into a bitcoin machine.

The total estimated loss associated with this case is $1,740.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
