Ever since that video of Queen Camilla seemingly shooing away Kate Middleton during the State Visit went viral, fans have been on the lookout for more drama between the two senior royals. Now senior aide are spilling aaaaaall the tea on the rumored rift between Kate and Camilla, whose “icy” relationship has reportedly become “impossible to ignore.”
As one source tells RadarOnline, the “clash” between the two women is due to a power struggle. “Camilla feels sidelined, while Kate’s growing confidence and visibility are unsettling her,” they claim. “Both are aware that the balance of power is shifting—and neither is prepared to step back quietly.”

Another adds, “Camilla worked hard to establish herself after years of criticism, and she doesn’t like the idea of being overshadowed. Kate’s return has been polished, professional and very ‘queenly’—it’s obvious she’s positioning herself for the future, and that’s making Camilla uneasy.”
This ^^^ all comes amid reports that the Palace is “quietly preparing William to step up—fast” as concern about King Charles’ health grows. A senior courtier recently told Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop that “the illusion of perfect health is collapsing” following the monarch’s recent joint appearance with Wills at London’s COP30 climate summit.
Of course, rumors of tension between Kate and Camilla are nothing new. Back in November 2024, a source told Us Weekly that the two have “always had a tense relationship,” saying of Camilla, “She loves her responsibilities. Her whole life, she has always wanted to be queen, so she doesn’t want to let it go so fast.”

Meanwhile, royal expert Valentine Low told GB News earlier this year that “Kate is a completely different person to Camilla. She’s very controlled and cautious, and careful. Camilla is much more outgoing.”
Whether the rumored tension has to do with their contrasting personalities or a power struggle, things have reportedly grown “noticeably tense” between the two. As one palace aide tells RadarOnline: “It genuinely feels like there are two queens in waiting–one already established and the other getting ready to take her place.”
