SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – An Englewood man has been arrested by police in western New York, and charged with killing his two brothers during a hunting trip, authorities say.
New York State Police responded to 911 call Sunday night in Allen, New York, at about 10 p.m. Troopers found two dead men inside a house.
Investigators say three brothers were staying at a hunting cabin when they got into a physical altercation. One of the brothers called 911.
During the fight, troopers believe Scot Thompson, 65, of Englewood, fatally shot Mark B. Thompson, 70, of Canterbury, Connecticut, and David E. Thompson, 69 of Port Charlotte, with a rifle.
Scot Thompson left the scene in David’s vehicle but was quickly found and taken into custody, police said.
Thompson has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal use of a firearm, police said.
As of Nov. 24, autopsies are scheduled and Thompson is in the Allegany County Jail awaiting arraignment. The investigation is continuing.
