Authorities have arrested a serial rape suspect in connection with a number of cold cases in Queens, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the development says.

The 57-year-old suspect was being charged in five rapes, the source said.

According to the source, there was a roughly six-year period — from August 1991 to February 1997 — where about 12 rapes were reported in the easternmost section of the borough.

The suspect was apprehended at a sheriff’s office in Georgia Thursday after his fingerprints matched some latest fingerprints that were reevaluated from that pattern in 2024.
