New Windsor, NY (WRGB) — On October 14, at approximately 1:39 PM, New York State Police from the Montgomery barracks responded to a report of found human remains near Sloop Hill Road in the Town of New Windsor. The remains were uncovered during an excavation by Central Hudson as part of a gas line installation project.

The Troop F Forensic Identification Unit and the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Montgomery are leading the investigation, which is still in its early stages.

Authorities have stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
