BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — LOCAL RESIDENTS SAY Downtown Brooklyn’s Cadman Plaza Park has been dangerously dark for weeks, with the park’s usual lights failing to turn on after sunset. Commuters, delivery workers and families told News 12 that they’ve experienced near-collisions with bicycles on the park’s narrow running path and fear falls in uneven areas.
Neighbors have resorted to using flashlights, but say the park is unusable after dusk.
Councilmember Lincoln Restler has contacted the Parks Department about restoring lighting.
