A gray and mild start is here with patchy drizzle and another rain showers. By this afternoon and evening we turn quite windy along with a cool down.
Weather alerts are in effect for high winds and heavy snow pm the way. Later this evening and especially overnight we see a change to lake effect snow in and around Buffalo.
Temperatures today touch the 40s and 50s then we plunge into the 30s and 20s tonight. We remain quite cold tomorrow with wind chills in the 10s teens and 20s.
Once the cold front passes this evening, temperatures will start falling. The winds will remain strong into Thanksgiving. Eventually, lake-effect snow will start to develop near midnight and toward morning.
The winds will continue to pick up through the day. Winds could gust around 40 – 50 mph. The strongest winds will be felt along the Lake Erie shoreline.
Snow and gusty winds continue in to Thanksgiving Thursday with most Lake Effect Snow shifting to our south towns where several inches of snow is anticipated and Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in effect.
Areas south of the Buffalo metro will experience the best chance for heavier snowfall through Thanksgiving Day. This snow chance continues into Friday before tapering off by Friday night.
Temperatures will be in the 30s for highs for both Thursday and Friday. However, strong gusty winds will make it feel alot colder.
