NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. — Human remains were discovered by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. workers near Sloop Hill Road, state police at Montgomery said Thursday.
The remains were discovered at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, during excavation for a gas line installation project, state police said.
The Troop F Forensic Identification Unit and the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Montgomery are continuing the investigation, according to a press release.
The investigation is “in its early stages,” police said, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
