NEW YORK (PIX11) – The New York City mayoral election is a few weeks away!
New Yorkers will head to voting locations on Nov. 4 to choose the candidate they want to lead New York City. Here are some other key dates you need to know:
Debates
The top three New York City mayoral candidates will face off in their first debate on Thursday. It will feature Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa and independent candidate Andrew Cuomo.
The second debate will take place on Oct. 22.
Deadline to change your address
If you want to change your address before the general election, you have until Oct. 20.

NYC voter registration deadline
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 25. If the Board of Elections doesn’t receive an application from you in time, you won’t be able to vote in the New York City mayoral election.
Deadlines for vote-by-mail applications
The Board of Elections will accept online and mail applications for absentee ballots until Oct. 25.
If you’re unable to apply in time, the board will allow voters to deliver applications in person by Nov. 3.
Early voting
Early voting in the New York City mayoral election will be held Oct. 25 through Nov. 2.
Election Day
Election Day is on Nov. 4. Voting locations in New York City will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
