A 36-year-old woman was hospitalized with severe injuries early Friday after she was repeatedly stabbed on the Lower East Side, police said.
Investigators were searching for the attacker, who was last seen wearing a light blue sweatshirt and black jeans.
The victim was arguing with her assailant on Pitt St. near E. Houston St. at around 12:20 a.m. when the man pulled out a knife and pounced, cops said.
The suspect stabbed the woman in the right side, forearm and back of her neck before running off.
EMS rushed the woman to Bellevue Hospital, where she’s expected to survive.

No arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon. It was not immediately disclosed what sparked the argument that led to the stabbing.
Cops were scouring the area for surveillance footage that may help them identify the attacker.
