Travel advisories have been issued for parts of Central New York due to lake-effect snow that is impacting the area.
Advisories have been issued for Madison County and Lewis County.
Lake-effect snow bands are causing whiteout conditions and slippery roads at times. Lake-effect snow is expected to bring at least 7-15 inches in the area.
“We want to remind people to be cautious,” said Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood. “If you go out on the roads make sure you give yourself plenty of time and give the plow trucks plenty of space. We want everyone to get to their destinations safely and that includes you, our plow truck drivers and our first responders.”
This travel advisory does not restrict travel, but urges motorists to limit driving if possible and use caution.
