Sneaker enthusiasts lined up early Friday morning to get a pair of the sneakers that retail for over $200.
For some, they say it’s an opportunity to make money on a resale. Others say it’s a chance to get a pair during the shoe’s limited release.
Over the years, Black Friday has turned into more of a hybrid event, with consumers doing less shopping in person and more shopping online.
Many shoppers at the Queens Center Mall said they noticed a lack of crowds.
“It’s not that crowded. It’s calm, like any other day, to be honest. Before it used to be crowded, like hectic,” Coraza said.
Despite economic uncertainty and tariffs throughout the year, the National Retail Federation anticipates that more than 186.9 million Americans are shopping on Black Friday this year — up 3 million shoppers from last year.
While promotions will span the entire holiday weekend, Black Friday remains the most popular day to shop. The second most popular: Cyber Monday.
