BROOKLYN — A teen from Brooklyn was airlifted after his pickup truck struck a pole in Putnam.
According to State Police, crews were called to the scene November 22 at approximately 9:20 p.m. When crews arrived, it was found a 2003 Ford Super Duty operated by 17-year-old Caleb Bailey which had been traveling northbound on Route 12 had crashed.
According to the police report, Bailey attempted to negotiate a left-hand curve when approaching the intersection of Hurry Hill Road when his truck struck a metal beam guardrail off the southbound shoulder of Route 12. From the results of the accident, the truck overturned and struck a Frontier utility pole off the northbound shoulder of Route 12.
State Police said Bailey suffered from serious injuries and was transported to Day Kimball Hospital before he was airlifted to Providence Hospital.
A passenger in the vehicle, who was identified as 20-year-old Christian Timko, of Hope Valley, Rhode Island, was injured in the crash and was transported by ALS to Day Kimball Hospital.
