STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A report of a fire in West Brighton prompted an emergency response on Sunday morning, according to preliminary radio transmissions.
Firefighters spent approximately an hour battling a blaze located at 28 Elizabeth St., around 6 a.m.
As of 9:30 a.m., FDNY was no longer at the scene.
The fire charred the side of the yellow three-story dwelling. Firefighters appeared to have knocked out most of the home’s windows.
A spokesperson for the fire department did not immediately respond to a request for comment by the time of publication.
