STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A firefighter suffered minor injuries in a blaze at a home in Great Kills on Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported at 4:41 a.m. at 8 Lennon Court between Arthur Kill Road and Abingdon Court, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY and EMS.
The fire began in the basement of the two-story home.
A total of 12 units and 60 fire and EMS personnel brought the blaze under control in less than an hour, at 5:25 a.m., the spokesman said.
The firefighter was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Prince’s Bay.
Police and the Red Cross remained at the scene after the FDNY members left.
