New York City is set to add three new casinos as a result of a recommendation made by the Gaming Facility Location Board on Monday, reports 6sqft.
The board voted in support of Steve Cohen’s $8 billion Metropolitan Park project next to Citi Field, an expansion of Resorts World NYC at Aqueduct Racetrack, and Bally’s proposed casino and hotel at Ferry Point Park in the Bronx. The state gaming commission is expected grant final approval later this month.

Metropolitan Park would replace 50 acres of parking lots surrounding Citi Field parking lots with a Hard Rock casino, a hotel, 25 acres of new park space, live music venues, and a food hall. The project is also expected to generate 450 off-site affordable units.
Resorts World’s project would involve a $5 billion transformation into a Vegas–style resort featuring 6,000 slots, 800 tables, 2,000 hotel rooms, and a. 7,000-seat concert venue.

The third project from Bally’s would include a 500,000-square-foot gaming hall, a 500-room hotel, retail, event space, and garages on the former Trump Ferry Point site.
Each developer must pay a $500 million license fee up front, with construction timelines ranging between 2026 and 2030.
