Starbucks is bringing back two beloved holiday beverages back to its menu starting Tuesday.
The fresh-roasted flavor of Chestnut Praline Latte is back in coffeehouses. The Eggnog Latte, the first-ever holiday drink offered at Starbucks, is back for the season (after a years-long hiatus) to the delight of fans everywhere.
Both drinks are available while supplies last.
The Eggnog Latte was created by Dave Olsen, who first created the drink in 1986 by combining espresso with a steamed pitcher of eggnog and milk.
Now, it’s back as a holiday flavor drop this season, after years of fans begging for the drink’s return.
“We heard the call for eggnog loud and clear, that’s what sparked the journey,” said Erik Gomez, who works on Starbucks beverage development team. “Our mission was to bring back that nostalgic, creamy indulgence that feels like a hug in a cup – rich, velvety, and unmistakably festive.”
The team re-imagined the holiday classic beverage with rich steamed eggnog and Starbucks signature espresso, topped with creamy foam and a dusting of ground nutmeg for the perfect finish. It is also available as an iced beverage.
Starbucks created a new Eggnog Cream Cold Foam to add to any iced coffee drink.
The Chestnut Praline Latte was first introduced in 2014, inspired by the sweet aroma of roasted chestnuts in the air at European Christmas markets.
It features steamed milk and espresso with flavors of caramelized chestnuts, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chestnut praline topping, available both hot and iced.
The holiday menu at Starbucks also includes a new Chestnut Praline Cold Foam and Chestnut Praline Protein Cold Foam.
