Anytime I am asked what my favorite food is, it never takes me longer than a second to answer, “Pizza!” New York City is my proverbial home away from home and, every time I visit, I make my rounds at my favorite pizza places.

THE LEGENDARY JOHN’S ON BLEECKER

For me, the absolute best pizza in Manhattan is found at the legendary John’s on Bleecker, which is just as famous for its ambience as it is its pizza.

So, here in Kentucky, I am always looking for a pizza that will put me in a New York State of Mind. It looks like I may have found it.

Now, full disclosure! I haven’t visited Wheated Louisville before, but the next time I am in that city, it’s where I am going. Why? Wheated originated in Brooklyn.

THE BEST PIZZA IN KENTUCKY?

I was recently power-scrolling through my Instagram feed and saw a post from lukefoods. Luke is a Kentucky food critic whose taste-test videos are a viral social media sensation beloved by foodies everywhere. He recently visited Wheated and quickly declared it the Best Pizza in Kentucky!

As it turns out, Luke’s not the only person raving about Wheated. Last year, the Courier-Journal shared an entertainment piece titled, “Why Wheated Louisville may be your new go-to for pizza.

Louisville’s beloved LEO Weekly stopped by Wheated shortly after it opened last summer. Writer Robin Garr immediately hailed it as “Hall of Fame level pizza.

Look, Wheated. We haven’t officially met yet. However, you had me at hello. You had me at lukefoods. You had me at Brooklyn. You had me at New York Style pizza. And you will soon have me at 1553 Bardstown Road in Louisville.

If you’re truly the best pizza in Kentucky, I’m here for it. Check that. I’m there for it.
