Portugal. The Man began a two-night run in New York City on Tuesday. The band’s first show in NYC took place at Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn — PTM will perform at Terminal 5 in Manhattan tonight (December 3) — where they welcomed “Weird Al” Yankovic for an original and a cover of Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name.”

Numerous “Weird Al” and PTM cross-pollinations have taken place over the years. The artists were paired for BLAM! (Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon) in 2013. In 2023, Yankovic joined the group at the Hollywood Bowl. “Weird Al” also remixed their song “Life In The Moment” in 2018.

The latest collab wrapped Portugal. The Man’s show in Brooklyn. The renowned parody musician emerged to add vocals to the aforementioned “Life In The Moment” off the Alaska-born, Portland, Oregon-based band’s 2017 album Woodstock.

Yankovic stuck around for an excellent cover of “Killing In The Name.” The song originally appears on Rage Against The Machine’s 1992 self-titled debut album. The performance also featured Jorma Taccone of Lonely Island fame impersonating Pee-wee Herman.

Portugal. The Man is touring around their new album, Shish, and the first set saw a full performance of the record. Set two included favorites such as “Modern Genius” and “So Young.”
