NEW YORK CITY — Police are searching for a suspect who set a subway rider’s pants aboard a Manhattan subway train on Monday.
A 56-year-old man was reportedly set on fire on a northbound 3 train around 3 a.m. The suspect was seen on surveillance video getting on board the train when it got to 34th Street—Penn Station Subway station, police said.
The suspect then fled the scene and was last seen getting on another northbound No. 3 train. Police released surveillance images of the man on Tuesday.
The victim was found on the 42nd Street station platform with severe burns to his legs. He was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center for treatment.
The suspect was wearing a grey jacket, a black hat, black pants, black boots, and carrying a black backpack.
