Two weeks after plans for a 1950s-style diner in Hell’s Kitchen collapsed at the committee level, the team behind the would-be establishment returned for round two — this time before nearly 50 members of the Manhattan Community Board 4 Full Board.

Stephane Bibeau and his business partner, chef Adam Schop propose a 24-hour diner on the corner of 9th Avenue and W44th Street, replacing La Pulperia, which closed earlier this year and migrated to Restaurant Row. They came for one more shot at winning back support for the 4am liquor license they say is essential for their 24/7 project — in their application called W44 Diner — to survive and prosper.
