Moody’s downgraded Jersey City’s credit rating shortly after the Tuesday runoff election, from A1 to A2, reflecting the “negative outlook” the rating agency has for the municipality’s finances.
The A2 rating captures a “financially struggling city with a deteriorating liquidity profile.”
