Kyler Murray’s offseason of uncertainty is off to an early start.

The Cardinals QB, who hasn’t suited up since Week 5 due to a foot injury, was ruled out for the remainder of the season, Arizona coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Friday.

“He had some more tests done this week, went out of state, got another opinion on it,” Gannon said. “It’s not progressing where it’s gonna make sense that he can go.”

Murray sprained his foot in a 22-21 loss to the Titans, but wasn’t placed on injured reserve until Week 8.

The No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft ends his season with 962 passing yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions, with backup Jacoby Brissett to continue handling pass-throwing duties for the final five games of the season.

At fourth in the NFC West at 3-9 and eliminated from playoff contention, Arizona is playing for pride at this point.

Murray, however, won’t get another chance to build his case to stay the Cardinals’ franchise quarterback.

His struggles — paired with Brissett’s success in his stead — present an interesting conundrum to the franchise.

He’s due $36.8 million in guaranteed salary and bonuses for 2026, with a $19.5 million roster bonus for 2027 looming in March. That’s nearly $58 million in dead cap money to potentially swallow if he’s released before June 1.

The 28-year-old has long been at the center of rumors, unease and injury issues during his Cardinals tenure, bringing just one winning season and playoff trip to Arizona, an 11-6 campaign in 2021.

He’s accumulated a 38-48-1 record with 20,460 passing yards, 121 touchdowns and 60 interceptions with a 67.1 completion percentage in his career, to go with 3,193 rushing yards and 32 scores on the ground in seven seasons.

Gannon wasn’t prepared to discuss Murray’s future just yet ahead of a week 14 meeting with the Rams on home turf.

“ I’m worried about the Rams right now,” he said.

Still, Gannon was able to find some empathy for his charge.

“ I just feel bad for the quarterback,” Gannon said. “He got hurt and he wasn’t healthy enough to play, that’s first and foremost, that’s where I would leave it right now.”
