A county near Syracuse had the highest full-value property tax rate in New York in 2025, according to data from the state Comptroller’s Office.
Cortland County’s full-value tax rate of $10.72 per $1,000 of the county’s full taxable value was No. 1 in the state this year. Cortland was one of only two counties in New York with a full-value tax rate of more than $10.
