TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The Riley County Police Department is investigating a homicide after a Manhattan man died Sunday morning.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, around 12:17 a.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Colorado Street for a reported welfare check on an injured man.
When officers arrived, they located 36-year-old Mark Rickenbaker, of Manhattan.
Rickenbaker was found with serious injuries to his body.
During their investigation, officers discovered that he had been involved in an altercation before their arrival.
Rickenbaker was taken to the hospital and died as a result of his injuries.
RCPD says this was an isolated incident and the investigation is still ongoing.
